Specialty Liability

image_riskinsuranceLiquor Liability

If you’re not in the business of manufacturing, distributing, selling, serving or furnishing alcoholic beverages, the policy may protect you in case someone claims you are legally liable for a liquor-related accident.

Hired Auto & Non-Owned Auto Liability

Hired Auto & Non-Owned Auto coverage if requested is typically added as an endorsement on a policy. If there are no vehicles owned by the company this coverage will meet the contract requirement for Commercial Auto coverage.

Hired Auto coverage replaces or augments the liability coverage offered by auto rental agencies for example:

Non-Owned Auto coverage protects your company in the event that your company is sued as a result of an auto accident that you or one of your employees has in a personal vehicle while on company business.

Pollution / Environmental Liability

Environmental coverage generally falls into two categories. Errors and Omissions coverage, also known as Professional Liability, protects a professional who mistakenly designs a facility that causes pollution in some way. Pollution Incident Coverage protects professionals on the job in case they cause a pollution incident by perhaps backing into a sewage pipe.

Policies for environmental consultants can feature broad coverage specifically tailored to the specific needs of a professional in the environmental field. Coverage may include Pollution Incident and Asbestos Coverage as well as retroactive coverage for eligible firms.

Farm & Ranch

Farm and Ranch coverage is available for a variety of farm structures. This includes your home, its contents, barns, and other farm buildings. In many cases, personal property such as jewelry, furs, and antiques can be covered with the purchase of additional options. We recognize that many people not only work on their farms and ranches, but they live there as well. Therefore, in addition to coverage of the farm operation, your policy can be tailored to handle the necessary protection for a homeowner or family that inhabits the farm or ranch’s residential home.

Farm and Ranch Insurance policies insure you against liability up to the stated limits of the policy. Coverage is also available for small individual operators or commercial farm operations. When someone is injured or another person’s property is damaged as a result of your farming activities, your insurer will settle claims for which you are legally liable (subject to the exclusions in the policy).

Garage Liability

Garage Liability Insurance covers the legal liability of franchised and non-franchised automobile, truck, truck-tractor, motorcycle, recreational vehicle, and trailer dealers for claims of bodily injury (BI) and property damage (PD) arising out of business operations. This is not the same coverage as Garage Keepers Legal Liability coverage.

Garage Keepers Legal Liability

Garage Keepers Legal Liability coverage is designed for business owners who offer towing services or operate service stations. It protects a customer’s vehicle when you are keeping it at a covered location for parking or storing, or to perform service.Garage Keepers Legal Liability insurance provides protection in case a vehicle is damaged by fire, theft, vandalism or collision.

Dealers Open Lot

Dealer Open Lot insurance provides physical damage coverage protection to a dealer’s covered autos and equipment. Covered Autos are typically private passenger vehicles (autos, pickups, minivans, SUV’s, etc.), RV units and other autos that are in the dealer’s inventory and held for sale. The vehicles may be used, new, demonstrators or service vehicles. Most insurance companies who write dealer open lot coverage require that the total value of the inventory be insured to 100% of their value.

Event Liability

A special event is defined as an event, such as a wedding, anniversary party, Bar Mitzvah, Bat Mitzvah, fair, carnival, exhibition, fundraising dinner or other event of short duration, usually lasting ten days or less. Another type of event which would qualify as a special event but be held open for more than 10 days might be a Corn Maze, Pumpkin Patch or a Christmas Tree Lot open to the public for the sale of Christmas trees. In addition to Special Event Liability insurance, other types of special event insurance would include Event Cancellation, Hole in One and Prize Indemnification insurance.

Inland Marine/Cargo

A group of property insurance coverages designed to insure exposures that cannot be conveniently or reasonably confined to a fixed location or insured at a standard rate under a standard form. Inland Marine includes coverage for property in transit over land, certain moveable property, property under construction, instrumentalities of transportation and communication (such as bridges, roads, piers, and television and radio towers), legal liability coverage for bailees, and computerized equipment. Many inland marine coverage forms provide coverage without regard to the location of the covered property; these are sometimes called “Floater” policies. Inland marine coverage forms are generally broader than property coverage forms due to the relative freedom from rate and form regulation of inland marine insurance as compared with property insurance.

Ocean Marine/Cargo

Ocean Marine Cargo coverage is insurance covering the transportation of goods and/or merchandise by vessels crossing both foreign and domestic waters including any inland or aviation transit associated with the shipment. This type of marine insurance also encompasses coverage for damage to the vessels involved in shipments and any legal liability arising in the course of shipment.

P&I/Hull/Land Transit

Hull Coverage – Designed to pay physical damage losses caused to the vessel. Such loss or damage may be caused by fire, lightning, windstorm, hail, tornado, collision, sinking, and other perils identified by the policy.

Land Transit – Coverage is extended to include physical damage to the vessel during overland transit.

Protection & Indemnity Coverage – Indemnifies the Insured (your Agency/University) for any sums which the Insured, as owner/lessee of the vessel, shall have become liable to pay due to losses such as those from loss of life, bodily injury, or illness including hospital, medical and related expenses. This includes collision liability and third party physical damage. Coverage is excluded for divers and divers’ assistants, but can be added with an additional premium upon request. This coverage is necessary when a vessel has a dedicated captain or crew.
